George Ryan

George Ryan has been a Councillor for the Shettleston Ward since 1995 and during that time he has been Vice-Convener of Personnel, Convener of Personnel and Administration Services, Convener of Personnel (Appeals), Convener of the Health and Safety Committee and Executive Member for Personnel and Administration Services.

He is an Executive Member for Business and the Economy. This department has responsibility for economic investment, worklessness, planning, tourism, housing, economic and social regeneration, building control and the Council’s property portfolio. 

George is also a Member of the Scottish Lay Judiciary and serves on Employment Tribunals and MOD Tribunals. He has also been appointed to the Board of Directors for City Parking LLP and the Clyde Gateway Regeneration Company.
