Laurie Russell, Chief Executive

Laurie has 30 years’ experience in economic and social regeneration. He is the Chair of the Scottish Social Enterprise Coalition and a member of the National Economic Forum in Scotland.

Prior to joining the Wise Group, Laurie managed the programme of European Funds in Western Scotland so he knew of the Wise Group as a funder and really liked what it stood for. He joined the Wise Group because “...it really lived its values and made a positive difference to people’s lives”.

Laurie joined the Wise Group as Chief Executive in 2006. Since joining the Wise Group, he has built on its success, developing the business internally and externally. Laurie has cemented the Wise Group's place as one of the UK’s leading social enterprises.
