Our regeneration projects have included Home Safety and Security, Environmental Improvements, and the delivery of a Handypersons Programme for the over 60s, offering practical help.
These contracts have been delivered across Scotland’s central belt ranging from North Lanarkshire through Glasgow to Ayrshire, either in partnership or under the instruction of a variety of housing associations and organisations such as Glasgow Housing Association and North Lanarkshire Council.
Home Safety
Home accidents account for almost 40% of all incidents requiring hospital treatment. The prevention of accidents in the home is high on the agenda of most Community Safety strategies. Similar to the home security service in terms of process, householders are provided with a range of tailored measures following a survey.

Home Security
Crime is a major cause of anxiety for many people. With a view to reducing crime and alleviating the fear of crime, the Wise Group works with social landlords to supply and fit a range of home security measures for tenants. This is an excellent example of a community regeneration programme which has helped thousands of tenants to feel safer and more secure in their own homes.

Handy Person
Since the beginning of April 2008, the Wise Group has been providing the Glasgow Housing Association’s free Handyperson Service for tenants aged 60 and over. The service offers practical help with odd jobs around the house.

Green belt regeneration and rural skills
The Wise Group works with the Forestry Commission to regenerate and maintain Scotland's greenbelt. As well as maintaining the land to make it safe and accessible for the public to enjoy, trainees are given the opportunity to develop rural skills under the guidance and supervision of full time experienced foremen.
