Employability Signature :
Employability Signature
The Wise Group has jointly developed a unique and innovative tool, with leading Scottish research consultancy BusinessLab, designed to make it easier to get unemployed people into full time work - the Employability Signature.
The tool concentrates on the individual needs of customers and clearly identifies the strength and potential weaknesses they may have in their quest for work. So the Signature provides a measure of individual employability including:
• Individual capacity to gain and sustain employment
• Underlying issues and challenges which may make getting a job more difficult than it should be
• Individual strengths that can be used to improve employability
The Signature process is easy to use, visually engaging and led by the individual themselves. It’s made up of 36 questions designed to identify individual strengths, challenges and opportunities.
Benefits
The Signature has been proven to increase individual engagement and ownership of the progression into work process.
Putting the customer in the driving seat means support can be based on an individual’s actual rather than perceived needs. It also means that any underlying issues individuals may be facing are better understood, improving the likelihood of an individual gaining and sustaining employment.
At a wider level, the Employability Signature provides agencies and employers with data which can be aggregated across groups of individuals to identify common themes and trends and opportunities for peer support. This means resources can be more focused, improving support to individuals and increasing
the chances of a positive outcome.
The Signature benefits the customer because there is a much clearer identification of what needs to be done to strengthen any application they make to an employer but it also makes it easier to match potential employees with employers because of this detailed knowledge.
Outcomes
The Employability Signature has been used with hundreds of Wise Group customers in different kinds of projects. The engagement process has helped Wise Group customers and staff to get a picture of individual strengths and challenges, ensuring individual needs are at the heart of the process. The data collected is helping the Wise Group to target its services and better ensure the right support gets to the right people.
