G.HEAT - Glasgow’s in-home advice service to help you reduce energy bills. It’s a free impartial service that will save you energy and money by:
• giving advice on using energy more efficiently
• helping you to get the best deal on electricity and gas
• helping you understand your fuel bills and meter readings
The Wise Group delivers this service, working in partnership with Glasgow City Council, the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations, the Glasgow and West of Scotland Forum of Housing Associations.
Fuel Poverty exists where a householder has to pay more than 10% of their disposable income on energy for the home. Energy prices have increased significantly over the past five years and it is estimated that more than 100,000 households in Glasgow currently have to pay more than 10% of their net income to keep their homes warm, with around 35,000 households paying more than 20%.
G-HEAT is one way in which Fuel Poverty is tackled. Whether a tenant or owner occupier, we aim to help people who may be in Fuel Poverty and are having difficulty keeping their home warm at a price they can afford.
