David Robertson Joins
27/10/2008

Former BBC Scotland newsreader David Robertson has joined us in a senior role as our Head of Public Affairs.  The news anchor, who presented Reporting Scotland for eight years, left the corporation last month.  He’ll take up his new role in the next few weeks.

Mr Robertson, who is from Dundee, spent 20 years as a presenter and reporter working for network and national BBC Television and Radio news covering many high profile events.

Mr Robertson said:  “I am delighted to join such a terrific, respected, ambitious and forward thinking organisation.  At a time of economic uncertainty it’s never been more important for Scotland to have organisations such as the Wise Group. Their experience gained over a quarter of a century in assisting getting people back into work is vital for our communities”.

Laurie Russell, our Chief Executive, said:  “David’s appointment to this senior role will be important to our strategy to increase the scale of what we do in the next five years and ensure many more people and communities benefit from our expertise.

"David will assist us to increase our profile following the success of being one of the winners at the UK Social Enterprise Awards this week,” he continued.
