HMPPS CFO3

The HMPPS CFO and ESF funded CFO3 project is designed to help offenders move towards social inclusion and mainstream provision. 

The project provides a mentoring service in prisons across the North East of England, supporting those that are most in need of help by enabling them to overcome any issues that they face.

Support is appropriate to individual circumstances and assessed need. Our mentors have been awarded the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) Approved Provider Standard (APS) for their work, the national quality standard for mentoring and befriending projects.

Eligible participants must be:

  • Aged 18 years old or over
  • Sentenced prisoners with up to three years to serve or on remand (women only) or,
  • Offenders completing a post-custodial license/supervision period or serving a community order

The project is suitable for those requiring intensive support and/or facing multiple barriers in following areas:

  • Attitude & life skills
  • Education & training
  • Finance & debt
  • Health & wellbeing
  • Relationships
  • Substance misuse

Tailored to individual need, each participant’s journey will encompass a combination of the
activities detailed below.

  • Disclosure of convictions
  • Employability skills & industry specific training
  • Money management
  • Obtaining I.D
  • Personal development
  • Referral to mainstream activity
