The opportunity

An excellent opportunity has become available for an Accommodation Support Worker to join our Wise Group Community Justice team working with people on probation in Northumbria, North East England.

The assistance you offer will help people on probation overcome barriers which may prevent them from sustaining suitable accommodation and enable them to build on their life skills.

You’ll offer support to individuals within the community and in custody at HMP Northumberland.

You should have excellent communication and customer service skills to allow you to build positive relationships within both the Probation Service (PS) and the customers you support and inspire.

The successful candidate will:

  • Manage a high caseload of service users
  • Deliver 1:1 and group interventions to aid the personal development of individuals
  • Experience of working within the accommodation sector would be advantageous
  • Have experience of mentoring
  • Have compassion and passion for helping people
  • Have personal resilience and ability to deal with difficult situations
  • Have excellent IT, communication, and interpersonal skills
