Emergency First Aid at Work

This Level 2 1 day course is designed to allow clients the opportunity to gain knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of a trained Emergency First Aider.

The course consists of First Aid incidents (including scene survey), primary survey, calling for help, and giving the correct information to Emergency Services.

The course also provides practical demonstrations & practice in the following areas:

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) – Paediatric & Adult CPR included
  • Choking – How to assess and deal with
  • Bleeding – How to assess & deal with bleeding, and using different types of bandages.
  • Shock – How to assess and deal with, including signs & symptoms of heart attack, asthma, and allergic reactions.
  • Minor injuries such as cuts, grazes and bruises, burns & scalds, splinters and how to deal with them.
  • Recovery Position

First Aid at Work

The Level 3 in First Aid at Work is a 3 day course consisting of 2 units that will enable successful candidates to act as a first aider in their workplace.

Unit 1: Emergency First aid at Work:

  • Roles and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Assessing an incident
  • Unconscious casualties
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Choking
  • External bleeding
  • Shock
  • Minor injuries

Unit 2: Recognition and Management of Illness and Injury in the Workplace:

  • Secondary survey
  • Injuries to bones, joints and muscles
  • Suspected head and spinal injuries
  • Burns and scalds
  • Eye injuries
  • Sudden poisoning
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Major illnesses

HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C Infections

Our 3 day course (Level 5) is designed to enable learners to understand the routes of infection of the blood borne viruses HIV, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C.

This course is suitable for candidates who are already employed in or are looking for employment in the Care sector, Health sector, or are working with individuals who may be vulnerable to the risk of infection from these viruses.
