How the Wise Group creates a fair and flexible working culture

Earlier this year, we were thrilled to be named as one of Scotland’s Top 10 Flexible Employers by Flexibility Works. As a result of our success, the Wise Group were asked to speak at their webinar on 19 May.

At the webinar, Suzanne McWilliams, Director of People and Culture at the Wise Group, spoke about how we have a Remote First policy and that we have embedded flexible working into our culture to implement this so that it works for our colleagues, our customers, and the enterprise.

Suzanne explained: “We don’t have a fixed policy. We have taken an approach truly built on trust, flexibility, and emotional intelligence.

“Our approach is built to try and enable balance and flexibility that is inclusive and works for each of us so ultimately, we can have balance while doing the biggest job we are capable of.

“We expect a lot from our colleagues, and so it is crucial that we are well resourced, paying attention to our wellbeing and each of us shaping our work in tandem with our lives.

“When we can choose mostly where and when we work, it signals the presence of trust to do the job. When this is evident, we get this trust back multiplied which further builds our culture of inclusivity and belonging.

“We know that none of what we do at the Wise Group would be possible without our people who are the heart of our Enterprise.”

It was fantastic to be part of this webinar and have the Wise Group recognised as leaders in implementing flexible working. We hope that the advice Suzanne was able to provide will help other businesses in their pursuit finding what works for them and their team.
